Financing

HRDC Funding:

For part-time students, the federal government provides loan funding through the National Student Loans Service Centre (NSLSC), up to a cumulative amount of $4,000 total assistance.

While part-time Canada Student Loans are federal, your provincial or territorial Student Assistance Office administers them by confirming your eligibility, processing your loan application, assessing your financial need, sending you loan documents, and letting you know how much you are authorized to receive in Canada Student Loans.

As a part-time student, you must make interest payments on your part-time student loans while you are in school. However, you may qualify for Interest Relief if your income is below a certain level.

Six months after you have completed your studies, you will be expected to begin repaying your loan to the National Student Loans Service Centre (NSLSC)
